The golden couple are on the march again.

Colin Fleming and Jocelyn Rae, who won the Commonwealth gold in mixed doubles at Delhi in 2010, had a highly impressive 6-2, 6-0 victory over Zheng Jie, a former singles semi-finalist at Wimbledon, and Scott Lipsky of the USA, a former winner of the French Open mixed title.

"The scoreline represented the match. We outplayed them today," said Fleming. "I just wish there were more days like that in a year."

It was an auspicious return to top-class tennis for Rae after two years of injury.

Fleming said: "Joss sent me a Facebook message to see if I wanted to play. I said yes straight away. I've always enjoyed playing with Joss and we've had some good results. And a gold medal as well. What more do you want?"

An extended run at Wimbledon is the obvious answer.
