THE "vanishing spray" which has been successfully deployed at the World Cup in Brazil, will not be making an appearance, temporary or not, in Scottish football.

Even if the Scottish Football Association gave the green light to the FIFA-approved "white line" which the referee draws in front of the defensive wall to cut out encroachment during free-kicks before disappearing shortly afterwards, UEFA have yet to announce any intention to utilise the spray within their jurisdiction.

It effectively remains an unlicensed technology and is not part of their rule book.

It is understood the SFA, who were given a sample of the product during the recent FIFA Congress in Sao Paolo, would revisit the possibility of introducing the spray if it was given the go-ahead by European football's governing body.
