Scott Robinson, the Hearts midfielder, was given the all-clear last night when it was confirmed that he had not suffered a shin fracture during a pre-season friendly win over Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest.

The 22-year-old - who is suspended for the opening Championship match with Rangers - was carried off after an innocuous challenge in the first half but scans revealed the injury is not serious. That has allowed a greater focus to remain on goals from Sam Nicholson and Gary Oliver, and the performance of trialists Prince Bauben and Lee Currie. Both players are expected to continue to train with the club this week.
