Willy Caballero, Malaga's Argentinian goalkeeper, has joined Manchester City on a three-year deal for an estimated £6m fee.

The 32-year-old will provide competition for the England No.1 Joe Hart, following the departure of reserve Costel Pantilimon to Sunderland.

Manuel Pellegrini, the City manager, signed Caballero for Malaga from Elche when in charge of the La Liga side in 2011.

Gareth Barry, the City midfielder who spent last season on loan at Everton, has signed a three-year contract at Goodison Park.

Southampton have picked up playmaker Dusan Tadic from Twente Enschede and West Ham United have taken Diego Poyet, 19-year-old son of the Sunderland manager Gus, from Charlton Athletic, both on four-year-deals.
