Divock Origi, the Belgium striker, is to continue talks over a prospective move to Liverpool, although it is understood that a deal is still some way off.

The 19-year-old met with Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, at the club's training ground yesterday to discuss a move.

A fee of around £10m has been agreed already with Origi's current club Lille, although Tottenham Hotspur remain an interested party.

Lazar Markovic is understood to be much closer to completing a transfer to Anfield, though. Liverpool have triggered the £36m release clause in the Benfica winger's contract and he could arrive on Merseyside today to finalise the move.
