Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has resigned following his team's defeat in the World Cup, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

Scolari's side finished fourth in the 2014 tournament after being beaten 7-1 by eventual winners Germany in the semi-finals.

His side then lost their third place play-off to the Netherlands 3-0.

It is understood that CBF will confirm his resignation later today.

Scolari won the tournament with his squad in 2002.
