Dundee United last night agreed a two-year contract with Polish defender Jaroslaw Fojut.

The move will be ratified once the club receive international clearance.

The 26-year-old will arrive as a free agent following his release by Tromso at the end of last season, although he is acquainted with British football too. Fojut played previously with Bolton Wanderers. Luton Town and Stockport County before returning to his homeland in 2009 to sign for Slask Wroclaw.

"I played in English football for five years and it was always my wish to play in the United Kingdom once more," said Fojut, once a target for Celtic. "This is a great club and I feel this will be an excellent move for me and my career."
