Jordan Morton, the former Hearts striker, has finalised an unexpected move to Bulgarian top-flight side Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Having played just once for Hearts, the 22-year-old was most recently with Cowdenbeath.

The Scot arrived in Bulgaria to undertake a trial with second division champions PFC Haskovo initially, but succeeded instead in catching the eye of Hristo Bonev, the Plovdiv head coach. The two parties agreed terms on a contract this week.

The striker - who scored three times last season - has been reunited with former Hearts team-mate Branimir Kostadinov at Plovdiv.
