Neil Lennon has been named on the shortlist to become the head coach of the South Korean national team.

The former Celtic manager, who left the Scottish champions in May, is being considered for the role alongside Frank Rijkaard, Luciano Spalletti and Martin Jol.

South Korea have been without a head coach since Hong Myung-bo elected to step down at the end of the country's World Cup campaign. Lennon was in Brazil too, working as a television pundit.

The Northern Irishman - who has been linked recently to coaching jobs in the United Arab Emirates - could be in place in time for South Korea's friendly matches against Venezuela and Uruguay next month, while the team will also be in action in January at the Asian Cup Finals.
