SCOTLAND will send an under-16 squad to the prestigious Copa Mexico youth tournament next month to face the cream of young world talent.

Scot Gemmill's side will be one of only two European nations, along with Portugal, who will play in Mexico City. The young Scots will face Honduras, Ecuador and the hosts Mexico in Group A of the 16-team tournament.

And they could also face the likes of Argentina, Brazil, USA or Costa Rica if they progress.

Gemmill has included a mix of the group that won Victory Shield and some of the under-17 group that reached the European Championships semi-finals in Malta in May.
