Matthieu Reeb, the secretary general of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), says any appeal lodged by Legia Warsaw could be resolved "within days" after the decision to expel the Polish champions from the Champions League was upheld by UEFA.

Legia have indicated their intention to keep fighting their punishment and the next step is to lodge a second appeal with the CAS. Reeb has confirmed that Legia could take advantage of a fast-track process which may see a verdict reached before the Champions League play-off first leg against Maribor next Wednesday.

"If there is an appeal then we will be able to initiate an expedited procedure, as we did with the case of Luis Suarez," he said. "The lawyers representing Legia should be ready to file their appeal as soon as possible."
