John McGlynn insists his Livingston side will be fully focused on causing an upset against Hearts tonight and not on the off-field issues afflicting the club.

Livingston were last week hit with a transfer embargo from the SPFL due to alleged undeclared bonus payments. McGlynn, though, is relaxed about the impact the censure will have on his players, in contrast to Ally McCoist, the Rangers manager who recently claimed members of his squad had shown signs of being affected by the continuing boardroom shenanigans at Ibrox.

McGlynn was at Hearts during some turbulent times in Vladimir Romanov's reign, when players had to become used to late payment of wages - and, at times, non-payment.

However, the former Raith Rovers manager, who is content with his revamped squad anyway, is convinced there will be nothing to distract the Almondvale outfit in this evening's Petrofac Training Cup encounter with his old club.

He said: "No-one's been asking me about anything happening off the field. We know it's something that's happening in the boardroom and it's nothing to do with the football side of things. The players will get paid every month and there's no issues with regards to that.

"It's a different scenario to when I was working at Hearts, and when others were working at Hearts, where players weren't getting paid. It's nothing to do with that and the players are very much focused on football."

Buoyed by victories over Rangers and Hibs in the league, Hearts will head for West Lothian expected to rack up a fourth consecutive win following their success against Annan Athletic in the last round.

Tynecastle teenager Gary Oliver is determined to capitalise on Osman Sow's red card against Hibs by cementing his place in the team.

He said: "I did well in pre-season and scored a few goals, but the club signed Osman Sow and everyone can see he is a quality striker.

"But I have my chance now, he is going to miss a few games, and I need to take that opportunity."
