Lewis Toshney will not be joining Hearts, with the Tynecastle club understood to have ended their interest in the defender.
The 22-year-old trained with the Edinburgh side last week following his release by Celtic but did not do enough to impress head coach Robbie Neilson.
His chances of earning a contract were diminished too by the return to full training of Callum Paterson and the impressive form of Jordan McGhee. However, both Dundee and Kilmarnock remain interested in signing Toshney.
