St Johnstone have revealed that stalwart Frazer Wright has this morning left the club.

The 35-year-old defender had agreed a new one-year deal in June, but has been in and out of the side this season.

Manager Tommy Wright said: “The decision for Frazer to leave wasn’t an easy one but was done with Frazer’s best interests at heart. It gives him an opportunity to play week-in-week-out which is important for him.

“Frazer has been an absolute rock for this football club and has been a tremendous player, particularly in my tenure as manager. The Frazer Wright and Steven Anderson defensive partnership will be long remembered in the history books of St. Johnstone for the success they had together.

“Both I and the football club wish him all the best in the future.”
