Former Rangers star Nikica Jelavic is set to seal a return to the English Premier League with countryman Slaven Bilic's West Ham.

The Hull striker will be at Upton Park for a medical today, with a view to a permanent deal worth a reported £4million.

The Croatia international was left out of the Hull squad that beat Preston 2-0 at the weekend, and manager Steve Bruce admitted following the home clash that his exit is likely.

"I had a conversation with Jelavic, which was only right," he said.

"How could he play when his head was elsewhere?

"Now let's see if the two clubs get to the valuation. He has a buy-out clause but they have got nowhere near that. Come Tuesday, I would still expect him to leave."
