Allan McGregor. One of the easier clean sheets that the Hull City man will ever achieve. The Gibraltarians managed to score at Hampden but they didn't even manage to hit the target here. 6

Alan Hutton. The Aston Villa man's kind of game, with little to worry about at the other end and his rampaging runs down the right could make a difference. Halted illegally at times and great assist for Fletcher's first. 7

Gordon Greer. Has never lost in Scotland colours, a decent record considering he has now played nine times. Used the ball well all night, and the Brighton defender's header had beaten home keeper Jamie Robba and was goalbound before Martin got the touch. 7

Christophe Berra. The Ipswich defender generally strolled through this game and really should have had another international goal to add to his tally when he headed a first half Ritchie corner wide of the post. 6

Andy Robertson. The Hull City full back still needs experience and will be better forr this game. Got down the left all night but he may feel his final ball could have been more accurate. 6

Matt Ritchie. This son of Gosport on the English south coast showed what an asset he could be to Scotland on Thursday night against Poland and demonstrated it again for the first hour here. Worked in tandem with Alan Hutton to tear the Gibraltar left to shreds. 7

Scott Brown. The man tasked with tracking back on the rare occasions when the part-timers managed to break out of their defensive positions, Brown cantered through this match before being given a deserved break. 7

Graham Dorrans. One of a number of Scotland midfielders who has been rather unfortunate not to see more playing time. The Norwich City man sat in the central area alongside Brown and used the ball intelligently as usual. 7

Shaun Maloney. Dropped for the clash with Poland but this mainstay of the Strachan era returned to add another goal to his international tally. It will be little consolation to a player who is running out of chances to reach major finals but he showed his class on the ball here and his curled finish was a beauty. 7

Chris Martin. Dad Gerry, of Easterhouse, will be thrilled this morning after the big striker's first goal for his country, headed in from all of two inches. Should have had more besides, including volleying over the top corner from Hutton pass. 7

Steven Fletcher. Notched his second hat-trick against the hapless Gibraltarians and could have had any number. All three were excellently taken: the first was a firm header from Hutton's cross, the second an exquisite low finish off a post, and the third was the best of a lot. 8

Substitutions:

Johnny Russell (for Ritchie 64). Handed his competitive debut and it was incredible he didn't also have his first goal. Scooped left foot finish over and forced a close range save from Robba. 6

Darren Fletcher (for Brown 64). Veteran West Brom man may not have too many campaigns left in the tank but he was given a run-out here and kept things nice and simple. 5

Steven Naismith (for Martin 76). Blazed over after a sweet picece of interplay with Maloney but finally got his third of the campaign with a guided left-foot finish. 6
