CELTIC manager Ronny Deila insists he is sure he will be given the time to turn things around and stage another attempt at qualifying for the Champions League following his side's latest horror show in Europe.
The Ladbrokes Premiership champions lost 2-1 at home to Molde, currently sitting sixth in the Norwegian league, and are now rooted to the bottom of Europa League Group A after four matches.
Asked if he was sure he would be given the time he needs to build the squad he wants, Deila replied: "Yes, I am confident about that.
"I talked about it two days ago and one day ago. Again, we have done very well domestically. In Europe, we haven't reached that level we want, but we are going to improve."I am not thinking about my position. That is something you can keep writing about. I am going to work hard to turn this around again and be ready for next year as well as these last two games."
Deila admits his defence cannot keep giving away goals as they have done in Europe over the past two seasons, but he insists his side can still qualify for the knock-out stage of the Europa League.
"It is realistic," stated the under-pressure Norwegian. "We have drawn with Ajax and Fenerbahce before. Molde have shown they are the best team in the group, but we can beat Ajax here and beat Fenerbahce down there.
"We are going to fight to the end for those six points.
"I think we score a lot of goals, but we concede too easily. We score goals in every game we play in Europe. The main challenge is conceding goals too easily.
"I am not going to make any excuses. That is something I have to handle and something I have to do better."
Deila also claims that success in Europe is not going to make-or-break his chances of hanging onto his job.
"It is a lot of things I am being judged on," he said. "It is the results in Europe, but I don't think it would be a good thing to lose the league. It is about developing a team that can get into the Champions League. It is about getting a green light through the whole system from youth so that we can have players like Kieran Tierney today.
"He played with heart and had an unbelievable performance. That was the positive thing on a dark day."
Jozo Simunovic passed a late fitness test, but suffered an injury after four minutes. Deila insists he did not take a risk by playing the Croatian centre-back.
"He was 100 per cent fit," he said. "He suffered a knock, twisted his ankle and pulled up. He was ready."
