CELTIC have been left stunned after Croatian side Rijeka placed a £4 million price tag on Hoops target Marko Leskovic.

The Scottish champions have monitored the 24-year-old international defender for some time now.

And they were preparing to launch a bid of £1.5 million for Leskovic, who has been capped three times by Croatia.

However, his club Rijeka are in no rush to sell and know that Lazio and Braga are also interested in the classy stopper.

They have indicated to Celtic they are looking for around £4 million for them to sell Leskovic, who still has two years left on his deal.

Rijeka have no financial worries after pocketing £9 million from Leicester City for striker Andreja Kramarica last season and they also noted Celtic fork out a reported £4 million to title rivals Dinamo Zagreb this season for Jozo Simunovic.

Leskovic has already played against Scottish opposition this season - he was in the Rijeka side who lost to Aberdeen in the Europa League.
