Kelsey MacDonald and Gemma Dryburgh both secured cards for next season’s Ladies European Tour after the closing round of the Qualifying School final in Morocco.

MacDonald, the former Scottish Women’s Amateur champion from Nairn, regained the playing rights she lost after her rookie season this year with a two-under 70 for a 13-under 347 as she finished joint fifth.

Aberdonian Dryburgh signed off with a 68 and shared seventh place, one stroke behind her compatriot, as she gained her tour card at the first time of asking.

“It is a relief, but I do not want to come back to Tour School again,” said a relieved MacDonald.

Indian amateur Aditi Ashok, 17, claimed the No 1 qualifying spot with a 23-under tally as she capped a shimmering year that saw her win the St Rule Trophy and the Ladies British Amateur Strokeplay titles during trips to the UK in the summer.
