Every team in the Ladbrokes Premiership has plenty to play for after another important weekend in the league.

Here, we look at five things we learned from the action.

1. This is the tightest top-six battle yet

With less than a week to go until the split, only three teams cannot make the top six while half of the division's clubs are vying for the final three places. Partick Thistle, Dundee and Inverness can all make it an even more intriguing battle by picking up results on Tuesday night.

2. Aberdeen are not giving up on the title

The Dons fell seven points behind on Saturday, two weeks after a damaging afternoon when they lost a lead at Motherwell following Celtic's last-gasp winner at Kilmarnock. But they swept Hamilton aside with a 3-0 win on Sunday to keep themselves in the hunt. It was the first time in 2016 that they had won by more than a single goal margin and, with top goalscorer Adam Rooney due to return from injury after the split, they can put the pressure back on if they beat Hearts on Friday night.

3. Patrick Roberts knows where the goal is

The 18-year-old winger has shown flashes of class since joining Celtic on loan from Manchester City in January, but he proved the difference with a double in a 3-1 win over Hearts on Saturday. The two well-taken goals were the former Fulham player's first in senior football and many more look like following.

4. Dundee United can survive

The Tannadice club had only won two of their previous 15 meetings with St Johnstone before taking on their in-form rivals in Perth on Saturday but a 1-0 win has revived their survival hopes after picking up one point from their previous three matches. United can close the gap to two points on Tuesday.

5. Kilmarnock need a win soon

Killie jumped above Motherwell and out of the bottom two with a 2-0 win at Fir Park on February 13, but both teams have experienced contrasting fortunes since. Motherwell have recorded six wins to move up to fourth while Killie have only scored once in the league since then. A goalless draw against Partick Thistle left Lee Clark without a win in six games as manager. Hamilton are still in their sights but automatic relegation is now a real concern ahead of Saturday's visit of St Johnstone to Rugby Park.
