Celtic will party at Tynecastle this afternoon if they take all three points from their Ladbrokes Premiership lunchtime meeting with Hearts.

Ronny Deila, the Celtic manager, confirmed that he would not look over his shoulder for Aberdeen’s result coming in from Pittodrie should his side get the required victory in Edinburgh.

A win for Celtic would ensure that their substantial goal difference – currently at 36 – would effectively mean that even if they blew their last three games, they would still be crowned champions. And Deila plans to celebrate on the whistle if he gets the result he wants.

“If we win tomorrow and we lose it [the title] I will know then that I don’t have anything to do in football,” joked the Norwegian. “If we win we are champions – even I can say that. There are too many goals.

“So everything is about ourselves and getting three points in the game.

“If we win the league after 38 games then of course we have a right to celebrate. The best team in Scotland is the team who wins the league and that is hopefully going to be us. It is a big game and a big opportunity for us tomorrow.

“We want to win and cross the line but it is going to be tough. Hearts have been good this season and it always tough to play at their ground. The atmosphere is good, it is a tight little pitch so we have to be really up for it.”
