RANGERS

WES FODERINGHAM

Made three good saves in the first-half to keep Rangers in the game, but his good stop right at the end to deny Stokes for a third time only delayed the winner. The goalkeeper did not deserve to lose or play behind that defence. 7

JAMES TAVERNIER

Stokes made him look like a pub league footballer so often did he glide past him. The right-back was woefully out of position at the first, outjumped at the second and apart from a fine cross for Miller’s goal suffered a humiliating afternoon. 4

ROB KIERNAN

It was the defending school of ‘after you, Claude’ for the first when he allowed Stokes to almost walk the ball in. Almost costs a second with an unforced error and was generally all over the place. Another one to have a wretched day. 5

DANNY WILSON

The pick of the Rangers defenders, which isn’t saying much. Made a great block to stop Hibs going 2-0 up and was the only one going out to make challenges and actually win one or two. But was he the man who should have marked Gray at the winner? 6

LEE WALLACE

The skipper was prevented from getting forward on a frustrating day for him. A bad pass on 19 minutes almost cost a goal. Worked hard, never hid but nothing came off for him. His final was complete when some idiot attacked him after the final whistle. 6

ANDY HALLIDAY

He was overrun in midfield early on but really came onto a game and starting seeing a lot of the ball – he was involved in the first goal. His own strike was quite superb, as was his work-rate, and showed real intelligence in possession. 7

JASON HOLT

His game is all about making runs into the box but those were rare. He darted about the midfield, looking to make passes and create something, anything, but there was always at least one green shirt in is way. Never really got going. 6

GEDION ZELALEM

Hmm. This lad is a puzzle. He can play and always seems to have a bit more time and space than others when on the ball. He knows how to keep possession but his team needed more than a few sideways passes at Hampden. Subbed after an hour. 5

MARTYN WAGHORN

There is no way he should have played and yet let nobody down. His step-overs took him past Fontaine and Stevenson more than a few times and his delivery was okay. Was never going to last the 90 but put in a shift. The less said about his 40 yard effort the better. 6

KENNY MILLER

What more is there to say about this remarkable man? Had it not been for the old geezer, Rangers would have been dead by the break. It wasn’t just his goal, the striker’s work-rate and enthusiasm rubbed off on his team-mates. Hit the bar as well. 8

BARRY MCKAY

Found Gray a hard man to get past. There were moments when we saw what the winger is capable of but they were fleeting. In his defence, he spent long, lonely periods on that touchline when the ball was nowhere near him. 6

SUBSTITUTES

DEAN SHIELS

Didn’t add much to the party. Was caught in possession a few times and, really, that was about it. 3

NICKY CLARK

He got himself in a tangle near the touchline which conceded a needless throw-in to Hibs. From that attack, the third goal came a minute or so later. 3

HIBERNIAN

CONRAD LOGAN

Actually had little to do. Perhaps could have done a bit better at the first goal but had no chance at the second. His kicking game was good and the big man does have a calmness about him in the goal which must make life easier for those in front of him. 6

DAVID GRAY

Sensational. Rangers are dangerous down the left and he kept both Wallace and McKay quiet. He looked out on his feet; however, late on put in a great tackle on Shiels which got him going again. Then he became a Leith legend with his superb header. 8

PAUL HANLON

His first touch gave away a free-kick on the edge of his own area but he settled into an okay game. He isn’t dominant enough but there is a good football-playing centre-half in there and without being brilliant was steady. 6

LIAM FONTAINE

Funny player. He can look like a fierce centre-half who would rather die than allow someone to get past him but can look cumbersome on the ball. Thought he had scored in the second-half with a flying header, a good if not an easy chance, then was sacrificed for Henderson. 6

DARREN MCGREGOR

Should have done better at Miller's goal when he allowed the Ranger players to come from behind and win the high ball. That was a bad mistake. But he won most of his headers and tackles. A good cross should have led to a goal by Stokes. 6

LEWIS STEVENSON

Got forward a lot when playing wing-back, as you would expect, and ran his heart out. Took a heavy knock on the head after clashing with his own captain Gray, but soldiered on. Did lose Miller when the Rangers man hit the post with a header. 6

JOHN MCGINN

What a player this 21-year-old is. The move which led to the first began with him tackling two Rangers players. He always seemed to want it that bit more, although he did allow Halliday to get past him a bit too easily for his goal. 7

FRASER FYVIE

In and out of the game. He was always alert to danger; whenever Rangers attacked it seemed to be him who got on the loose ball and sorted out the situation. Shut down space and even when tired never stopped. Booked. 6

DYLAN MCGEOCH

Sat deep and showed a lot of discipline to mind the shop when his team-mates charged forward. Was consistent without being spectacular and yet was another Hibee who could claim to have done little wrong. 6

JASON CUMMINGS

He got into a lot of good positons but too often made the wrong decision such as cutting back when a shot was the better option. Had a good chance in the first-half which was saved but faded and was off on 64 minutes. 6

ANTHONY STOKES

The best performance of his career. Two great goals, many other chances saved or blocked – he did miss a few as well - and the woodwork did for him on one occasion. He tormented poor Tavernier all day – where has this player been? 9

SUBSTITUTES

JAMES KEATINGS

Didn’t get a chance to shine but kept the Rangers defence occupied as Stokes did his stuff. 5

LIAM HENDERSON

Why did he not start? Was good from his first touch and two superb corner set-up Hibs second and third goals. 7

NIKLAS GUNNARSSON

Was put on late in the game and helped out in defence as history was made. 5
