BRITISH number one Johanna Konta will take on Puerto Rican world number 43 Monica Puig in the first round at Wimbledon.

Konta, who is set to face Ekaterina Makarova in the Eastbourne quarter-finals today, has never made it past the opening round before.

However, she was seeded 16th for this summer's Championships, becoming the first home seed at SW19 since 1984 in the ladies' draw.

The German is the fourth seed but was beaten by the Brit when they faced off at the same stage five years ago.

Defending champion Serena Williams will get underway against a qualifier, while her sister and five-time title holder Venus has drawn Croatia's Donna Vekic.

Britain's Heather Watson has drawn German world number 44 Annika Beck after pushing Serena Williams very close last year.
