HEARTS have announced that the pre-season friendly due to take place against Fleetwood Town at Tynecastle on Saturday has been called off.

The Jambos claimed in a statement that the reasons for the late cancellation were 'outwith the club's control' and say they will attempt to arrange a fixture for the same date against a different opponent.

The English League One outfit parted ways with manager and former Hearts star Steven Pressley earlier today, only nine months after the ex-Falkirk boss took the reins.

"Hearts’ pre-season friendly against Fleetwood Town, scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed indefinitely due to circumstances outwith the club’s control," read a Hearts statement.

"The club is now attempting to make alternative arrangements with regards to a friendly match on Saturday, and will make a further announcement in due course."
