BRAD MCKAY has signed a two-year contract with Inverness Caledonian Thistle following his release by St Johnstone on Monday.

The former Hearts centre-back becomes the first Scottish Premiership signing of transfer deadline day after moving to the Highlands on a free transfer.

McKay was let go by Saints earlier this week, with manager Tommy Wright revealing that the 23-year-old wasn't in his first team plans.

Richie Foran has pounced by making his sixth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Scott Boden, Kevin McNaughton, Jake Mulraney, Billy King and Lonsana Doumbouya.

The defender has made three appearances for Saints this season, including a goalscoring performance in a 3-2 win over former club Hearts in the League Cup.
