CRAIG GORDON (7): Left exposed at Fernandinho’s first for City, and undone by a wonderful dummy by Sterling for the second. Unlucky at City’s third as fine save from Aguero fell into path of Nolito to finish. Great late save from Gundogan.
MIKAEL LUSTIG (7): Had hands full with the forward runs of Clichy from deep, but coped well enough and used the ball well too.
KOLO TOURE (8): Unenviable task of trying to keep tabs on Aguero, but stuck manfully to the task. Assured performance.
ERIK SVIATCHENKO (7): Threw himself at Forrest’s cross to force ball towards goal for Dembele to score, and got back at Silva to stop a certain goal.

KIERAN TIERNEY (8): Caught deepest to play Fernandinho on for City’s first leveller, but deserved every bit of luck he got when he bombed forward and got cross away that Sterling deflected past Bravo. An incredible moment for the boyhood Celtic fan, topped off with an assist for the third.
NIR BITTON (7): Nimble footwork allowed him to spark the move that led to Celtic’s second, and fed Tierney to get the cross away for the third. Replaced by Griffiths late on.
SCOTT BROWN (7): Might have been stronger in the tackle when sold short by Dembele for City’s second, but otherwise competed well in the midfield.
SCOTT SINCLAIR (7): Clever set-piece found Forrest to set up the opener, and winger was on electrifying form early on. Tired as the game went on though.
TOM ROGIC (7): Perfectly measured pass for Tierney to run onto for Celtic’s second and fantastic in opening half an hour. Looked visibly tired towards the end of the first-half though, and replaced by Armstrong before the hour.

JAMES FORREST (7): Beautifully cushioned Sinclair’s free-kick into the area to allow Sviatchenko to attack the ball and set up Dembele to score. Looked dangerous when running at Clichy and left nothing out there before being replaced late on by Roberts.
MOUSSA DEMBELE (9): Two goals and proved a real handful for the City defence. Blotted copybook when selling Brown short with pass to let City in for their second, but all was forgiven as he finished brilliantly on the turn for the third. Superb.
SUBSTITUTES
STUART ARMSTRONG (6): On for Rogic early in the second half and tidy enough in midfield.
PATRICK ROBERTS (5): Replaced Forrest with 10 minutes left and dug in for the cause.
LEIGH GRIFFITHS (5): Replaced Bitton with seven minutes remaining, not much of a sniff.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
