Captain Scott Brown got the only goal of the game as Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic won at Dundee.

In the Premiership's lunchtime kick-off Brown scored with a close-range drive two minutes into the second half at Dens Park as the defending champions made it seven league wins from eight this season.

The 1-0 win for Celtic means struggling Dundee have still not won since the first Premiership match of the campaign.

Celtic are four points clear of second-placed Aberdeen, who were 4-0 winners at Kilmarnock.

Adam Rooney scored the only goal of the first half from the spot after a foul by goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald.

Three goals in 22 second-half minutes made an away win certain. First Andrew Considine volleyed in after a corner, then Ash Taylor netted from close range and Rooney slipped the fourth past MacDonald.

Fourth-placed St Johnstone were 2-0 winners at Ross County thanks to goals from Danny Swanson and Christopher Kane.

Just before the break Swanson scored from the spot following Jay McEveley's foul on Kane. In the 73rd minute Kane slid the ball under the hosts' goalkeeper Scott Fox after being played in by Steven MacLean.

Rangers moved up to fifth with a 2-0 victory at home to Partick Thistle.

Niko Kranjcar gave the hosts a 33rd-minute lead, finding the top corner from a tight angle. Five minutes before the break Andy Halliday finished a fine move to double the advantage.

Liam Polworth's stoppage-time leveller earned Inverness a 1-1 draw at Hamilton.

Polworth fired into the bottom left corner for a 93rd-minute equaliser. Alex D'Acol had given Hamilton an 18th-minute lead, stabbing the ball over the line after goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams had blocked a shot.
