Hibernian manager Neil Lennon hopes a hunger for revenge will drive his side on when they take on St Mirren on Saturday.

The Buddies currently prop up the Ladbrokes Championship but claimed a rare win over the Easter Road men earlier this month when they knocked them out of the Irn-Bru Cup.

The defeat still rankles with Lennon - who has had the European ban he received after being sent to the stands during his side's Europa League qualifier with Brondby reduced by UEFA from five games to four on appeal - and the Northern Irishman hopes his league leaders can make amends when the Saints are welcomed back to Leith this weekend.

He told HibsTV: "I hope we can pick up where we left off last week against Dunfermline but it's not going to be easy.

"St Mirren are a better team than the table tells us at the minute - but that is for them to sort out.

"I just want us to forge ahead if we can. If we can produce the level of performance we did at East End Park then it's going to take a good team to stop us in this division.

"We lost to St Mirren at Easter Road a few weeks ago and if it's playing on anybody's minds then hopefully it is in a positive way, because it was the poorest we have played this season.

"There was a lack of intensity and tempo - all the things we had on Saturday. It's only a couple of weeks since we last played them so I'm hoping taking that sense of 'we can do better' into the match and try to take the game to St Mirren."

Dundee United remain three points behind the Edinburgh side in second place.

They take on Falkirk at Tannadice and French defender William Edjenguele hopes his men can build on a five-game unbeaten run as they look to keep pace with the table-toppers.

He told ArabZone: "Falkirk will be a difficult test for us. We have to match our recent performances.

"You want to keep that momentum going.

"We have put on a run of good games. We haven't lost for a month or so now so we are keen to keep that run going."

Queen of the South will hope to rediscover their winning formula after five games without a victory when they travel to Raith Rovers for the late afternoon clash at Stark's Park.

Defeat, though, will allow the Kirkcaldy men to leapfrog them into third.

Morton can make up for their disappointment at losing out in the Betfred Cup semi-finals to Aberdeen by snatching sixth place from Ayr United if they beat the Honest Men at Cappielow.

Dumbarton, meanwhile, can swap places with Dunfermline and move out of the play-off zone if they can beat the Pars at home.
