HEARTS have signed Slovenia international full-back Andraz Struna on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old was a free agent after leaving Greek Super League club PAS Giannina last summer and becomes Ian Cathro's fourth signing of the month.

Struna, who has scored one goal in 25 caps for his country, follows Aaron Hughes, Lennard Sowah and Malaury Martin in joining the Gorgie club during the winter break.

He has signed a deal until the summer with the capital club, who are currently without first-choice right-back Callum Paterson due to a knee injury.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve its goals for the second part of the season,” Struna told Hearts TV.

“I’m an attacking full back and I think I’ll be good fit based on the ideas presented to me by the club and the Head Coach.

“I like possession football and I understand that is the way Hearts want to play, so I am optimistic. The facilities here are good, as a player you have everything you need here so now it’s about getting to work.”
