MARK WARBURTON hopes his Ibrox experience will help him bring success to Nottingham Forest after he clinched a switch to the Championship strugglers.
The former Rangers boss has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal at the City Ground just weeks after his controversial Light Blues departure.
Warburton and assistant David Weir have linked up with Frank McParland once again and will look to lead Forest away from the second tier relegation zone in the coming weeks.
The Reds are 19th in the standings ahead of the clash with Derby on Saturday but Warburton has lofty ambitions after securing a quickfire return to the game.
He said: "I hope it will help me; you'd like to think that you learn something from every club you are at.
“It is an incredible level of expectation up there. But every job you take, you hope that you gain from it and get stronger for it.
"As a person you hope you are better for the experience and it was a big two years in Glasgow. But we have emerged from that and we are delighted to be here now.
"There is not one member of the management team or staff at any (Championship) club who is not after exactly that (promotion to the Premier League) every summer.
"You start the season in a division of 24 teams who will all be thinking exactly the same thing. The Championship will be full of expectant owners and ambitious managers.
"This is a tremendous club. When you look at the stadium and the history; when you look at the training ground we are sat in – you know where this club should be.
"Talk is cheap though. We know that. We have to get a framework in place; we have to provide the foundations to get this club back to where it needs to be.
"I am delighted to be here because it is a magnificent club with a tremendous history that we are all aware of.
"We understand the expectation here and we look forward to hopefully playing a part in getting the club back to where it needs to be."
Warburton played down the prospect of him taking the Forest job just hours before Rangers announced his departure from Ibrox last month.
But the Englishman has now been confirmed as their sixth manager in four years after he replaced caretaker boss Gary Brazil ahead of the Rams clash this weekend.
Warburton told the Nottingham Post: "The obvious goal, in the short-term, is surrounding the games we have coming up.
"It is a huge game straight away on Saturday, for a number of reasons. We appreciate the significance of the game. But it is about working with the squad and helping them to enjoy what they do.
"We will look at how we can make the small improvements that we need to secure the points. Then, once we are safe, we will look to plan for a strong pre-season and making sure we perform next season.”
