SCOTLAND'S kids crashed out of the Euro Elite Group in Czech Republic, after the hosts were awarded a hugely debatable late penalty.

Ricky Sbragia's side were already down to 10 men after Dundee United's Scott Allardice had been shown two yellow cards.

Scotland had lost their opening game 3-0 to Austria after conceding two penalties and there was more frustration last night in Zlin when the Luxembourg ref awarded a desperately harsh spot kick against Celtic's Anthony Ralston.

The Czechs netted it to send Scotland home with a game against Hungary still to go.

However, the Czech keeper didn't have a save to make and the Scots have yet to score in two games – they have now gone out for the fifth year in a row at the Elite Round stage.

But Sbragia was left raging at the penalty decision. He said: "Frustration is an understatement. We need some respect, we need to get some respect from these officials. We get nothing – absolutely nothing. You saw that in the first game, you saw that in the second game.

"That's a penalty? My God. He's hit it through his legs and their player is actually laughing after the decision.

"But that's acceptable for them, it's crazy. There's no point speaking to the ref – they don't listen to you. There was no point talking to the fourth official because he was the one who awarded two penalties against us in the first game!

"Scott Allardice was unlucky – why not have a chat with him? I don't mind losing, I don't get uptight about it. But see when you give everything and you end up losing because of one person, it's incredibly annoying.

"It always seems to be against Scotland and I don't know why. Their favourite word here is 'Argh' – they shout that all the time when they go down. Maybe we are too honest."

Sbragia made big changes to the team that lost the opening game with seven switches, although one of them was forced on him because of the suspension of Harry Souttar. Captain Liam Burt was benched.

The Scots started well and an exhilarating run from Celtic's Michael Johnston saw him motor past five Czech players before bursting into the box and his eventual shot was deflected wide for a corner.

Then Manchester United starlet Ethan Hamilton had a long range dig that flew over the bar.

Scotland had the ball in the net in the 37th minute when Kevin O'Hara headed a deflected Johnston shot into the net, but he was well offside when he nodded home.

And Scotland's task was made even harder when Dundee United's Allardice was shown his second yellow card for a mistimed tackle.

But just like in the first game, Sbragia's kids were outdone with another hugely controversial refereeing decision when whistler Laurent Kopriwa awarded a spot kick when Ralston tangled with Denis Granecny, who was heading away from goal. It was a baffling decision which sparked huge protests from the Scots.

But Czech sub Ondrej Sasinka drilled home from the spot with 11 minutes left to send Scotland home.
