RICHIE Worrall insists Glasgow will "come to" and recover their form in time to challenge for silverware this season.
The Tigers heatleader scored 14 points at Newcastle on Sunday night - but that wasn't enough to prevent a 53-39 defeat on Tyneside.
It's the fourth away match in-a-row Glasgow have lost, putting a dent in their hopes of finishing top of the SGB Championship ahead of the end-of-season playoffs and having the pick of their opponents.
Worrall hopes a proposed get-together this week with team boss Stewart Dickson might be the perfect tonic for their slump in form as they prepare to face the Diamonds at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Saturday.
He said: "It's a pretty common story right now - we're not all firing, we're doing it at separate times which is no good for the team.
"Stewart's words are, trophies aren't won in August, so we will come to. Hopefully if it gets the go-ahead, a little idea that we've had for a get-together will be good - a bit of bonding and gelling as a team on the bikes before the meeting next week.
"I think we need to, because Newcastle are tough at our place and we want to be putting on a good show - we don't want to be losing.
"There are some things lacking and there are a few little things that need working on, and then we might be on the right track.
"Obviously Stewart isn't a magician but we need to work on something - we're all just turning up, doing our job and then leaving, and I think there needs to be a bit more than that."
Worrall and reserve Tom Perry were Glasgow's only heat winners at Newcastle as they struggled to make a real impact on the meeting.
The visitors did recover two points mid-match when Worrall was on a tactical double, but heat advantages for the hosts in heats nine, 13 and 15 killed off any potential resurgence from the Tigers.
Fans will relish the prospect of Worrall going head-to-head with twin Steve again on Saturday after a couple of brilliant battles between the brothers.
Richie said: "We had a couple of close races.
"In heat seven where he beat me, it took me two laps to get on the right line. The track was pretty slick and I didn't think that dirt line was going to be working, and the second lap I ventured out into it and it started pulling me round.
"I built up some speed for two laps and started knocking on his door then, and I think another lap I would've put in a challenge or maybe passed him.
"Then heat 15, the dirt went really wide, you had to be under the fence to get any drive. I did one lap and didn't quite reach that, so I was basically spinning but right on the outside of the track.
"Stevie ended up catching me up, so I just kept it right tight on one bend and slowed him right down, then went back to the dirt line. That made it comfortable enough for me."
Tigers scorers: Richie Worrall 14, Richard Lawson 8, Tom Perry 6+2, Nike Lunna 4+2, Aaron Summers 4, Dan Bewley 3+1, Jack Smith 0.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
