CELTIC'S players have come in for harsh criticism from a German newspaper for their performance in Wednesday's defeat to Bayern Munich.

A dominant display by the Bavarian giants saw them run out 3-0 winners in the Champions League meeting and the Hoops players were given low ratings by Bild for their poor performance. 

Using a rating system where 1 is the highest score and 6 the lowest, eight of Brendan Rodgers' players were handed a rating of 5.

Olivier Ntcham came in for the most severe criticism after being slapped with a 6, while Scott Sinclair and Patrick Roberts were deemed the most effective with scores of 4. The Herald:

The newspaper seemingly weren't overly impressed by the performance of the German champions either, with four players being handed scores of 3 and no one earning top marks. 

Celtic and Bayern will do battle once again on 31 October, when the Bundesliga outfit visit Parkhead in match day four of the Champions League.
