Jak Alnwick

Not called upon until the half-hour mark when he saved well from Cadden. Failed to cope with the corner that led to Mothewell’s opener and chipped easily for the second  5

James Tavernier

His involvement in the first half was brief. In the second, utterly anonymous 4

Fabio Cardoso

Was in the wars, almost entirely at the hands – or elbows – of Bowman His afternoon was over when he left with a facial injury  5

Bruno Alves

Showed his experience when standing up to Bowman in one of Motherwell’s more meaningful raids. Should have done better with a header in the first period    5

Declan John

Almost anonymous during the first period. So nearly gave Rangers the advantage before half-time with a diving header that flew just wide. Tried more than others    5

Ryan Jack

Produced an amazing block on the line to keep the Rangers goal intact when Kipre was given a free shot from a set piece. Did little in attack    5

Graham Dorrans

Arguably his least effective game in a Rangers jersey. Not given space or time in midfield    5

Daniel Candeias

After a few runs on the left, he switched flanks and was more effective. Went for glory when given a sight of goal in the second half, twice. Poor  5

Carlos Pena

Having shown up briefly during the first half, he was immediatealy involved after the interval, glancing a header wide then setting up Windass. Was then subbed  4

Josh Windass

Should have done better with his first real involvement in the game, a low drive saved by Carson. Had an even better opportunity when set up by Pena. A costly miss   4

Alfredo Morelos

Warmed to the task early, involving himself in a spat with Motherwell boss Steve Robinson. Appeared singled out for special treatment by ‘Well back three, but dished it out as well. Header late on summed up his day    5

SUBSTITUTES

Aaron Nemane

Replaced the ineffective Pena on the hour    3

Ross McRorie

Straight swap for the damaged Cardoso    4

Eduardo Herrera

Filled the space Windass had occupied    2

MOTHERWELL

Trevor Carson

Made a couple of interventions during the first-half, but nothing as crucial as his save from Windass in the 50th minute, and one for the cameras late on from Morelos    6

Cedric Kipre

Put under pressure early by Morelos which enabled the Rangers striker to get a shot away and the Frenchman should have burst the net before half-time when given a free shot in the box    6

Peter Hartley

Detailed from the off to maintain a watching brief on Morelos, and left his mark on proceedings and the striker with a crude challenge in the first half. It was his initial header that led to first goal    7

Charles Dunne

Was fortunate to escape punishment when challenging Morelos. Formed a three-man wall, impenetrable for the Rangers attack     6

Richard Tait

More than handled any threat posed by Rangers. Sound throughout the game     6

Chris Cadden

Tested Alnwick to the full with a crisp right-foot effort. Always gave Motherwell an out ball when under pressure     6

Allan Campbell

His speculative shot was Motherwell’s first effort. Chased everything and worked tirelessly    6

Carl McHugh

His usual dependable self. Unspectacular and workmanlike.  Exactly what is required to stop the opposition from settling     6

Andy Rose

Harried and harassed for 90 minutes. The lack of drive from the Rangers middle men confirms the job done by Rose & Co     6

Louis Moult

Was bleeding from a head knock after a challenge by Cardoso when he sent Alnwick scrambling across his goal with a low drive. Showed all his predatory instincts when giving Motherwell the lead and then with the clincher     8

Ryan Bowman

Booked after just six minutes for putting an arm in the face of Cardoso. Left the Portuguese stopper bloodied and battered after doing exactly the same in the second half, missed by referee Steven McLean    6

SUBSTITUTES

Gael Bigirimana

Came on for Campbell     4

Alex Fisher

Replaced Ryan Bowman to save the latter from himself     2
