ALLY MCCOIST admits it would take a special offer to lure him back into management three-and-a-half years after his departure from Rangers.

The Light Blues legend led his side to the Third Division and League One titles as he guided the club through the most difficult period in their history.

But he left Ibrox in December 2014 amid growing discontent amongst supporters over the Gers’ direction on and off the park.

McCoist has not been involved in coaching since but insists his love of football has never been diminished during his time away from the game.

He said: “I wouldn’t say coaching or management is behind me now. But it would need to be something that really interested me if I was to start taking my family down that route again.

“I must admit, I’m quite happy where I am at the moment doing what I’m doing.

“I get the chance to go and watch my kids play football and rugby now and I love it.

“I didn’t get the chance to do that with the older ones and I feel a bit bad about that. But I love it now.

“Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday I’m out at the rugby or the football.

“I still do all my games with BT Sport. I’m at Fir Park on Saturday.

“It’s not as if I don’t love the game. I absolutely still love it. I probably watch as much football as I’ve ever watched.

“I do some games for Five Live as well and talkSPORT and I’m going to the World Cup for just about the full duration for ITV.

“So It’s not as If I’ve turned my back on the game and don’t enjoy it any more. I love the game as much as ever but to get back into it would be a big decision.

“But there wouldn’t be much that would scare me. As my mate says I could probably manage the New York Yankees now without any problem.”
