RANGERS manager Graeme Murty refused to discuss his future at the club after his side suffered a 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final hammering at the hands of rivals Celtic.

A dominant performance from the defending champions at Hampden Park ended any hopes of the Gers winning silverware this season.

And Murty, who was appointed in the role until the end of the season following Pedro Caixinha’s dismissal last October, admitted his players failed to deliver on the big stage.

However, the former Under-20s boss would not be drawn into a response about what the result could mean for his hopes of keeping the job into next season.

"I’m frustrated, I didn’t think we turned up in the first half," he said to Sky Sports.

"The sending off changed the nature of what we wanted to do second half.

“We just didn’t get close to anyone, it took half an hour to make a tackle.

“I will look at myself and learn from it.

“It’s too raw right now, all that will happen now is conflict.

“Andy (Halliday) was frustrated, he’s been taken off before half time. I’ll speak to him during the week.

“I’ll apologise for the first half. It’s a lonely place out there, but we need to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

"I won’t talk about my role at this time, it’s not about me."
