WE are approaching awards season and it's time to nail your colours to the mast.

It's been another eventful season in Scottish football and five managers have made our shortlist for the Manager of the Year award.

Who do you think should win it and why?

Here are the contenders...

Brendan Rodgers (Celtic)

How do you follow up the perfect season? By doing it all again, of course.

Celtic remain on track to defend the domestic Treble secured in Rodgers' debut season in charge and while the Hoops have lost their Invincible tag, they remain in complete control of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Add to that a Betfred Cup title already in the bag and the chance to retain the Scottish Cup next month - not to mention a European campaign that took them to the Europa League knockout rounds. The Herald:

Steve Clarke (Kilmarnock)

The former West Bromwich Albion and Reading manager's impact at Rugby Park has been remarkable.

Since taking the reins from Lee McCulloch last October, Clarke has led Killie from the bottom of the table to the top six and into contention for a European spot.

The 54-year-old was recently awarded his third consecutive Premiership manager of the month award and it is no wonder given his side have lost just one league game since the end of November. The Herald:

Stephen Robinson (Motherwell)

The Northern Irishman has enjoyed huge success in the cups this season, leading the Steelmen to the finals of the Betfred Cup and Scottish Cup.

They fell at the last hurdle against Celtic at Hampden in November, but have the chance to make amends when they meet the champions again next month following their impressive 3-0 semi-final victory over Aberdeen

Robinson's side fell short of achieving a top-six finish in the league but their safety seems all but assured and after a seven-year wait to reach a cup final, he has delivered two in one season for the fans.

The Herald:

Neil Lennon (Hibernian)

It has been an impressive return to the top-flight for Hibs under former Celtic boss Lennon and they remain firmly in the race for second place and European football next season.

Lennon's team are easy on the eye and have found form at the right time of the season, heading into the post-split fixtures on a nine-match unbeaten run ahead of their clash with Celtic on Saturday. The Herald:

Jack Ross (St Mirren)

The transformation of the Buddies' fortunes since Jack Ross' arrival last season has propelled the 41-year-old into contention for the Manager of the Year gong.

He took over a side rooted to the bottom of the Championship table in October 2016 and went on to secure safety before guiding them to the league title with four games to spare this term.

The development of a number of young talents including Lewis Morgan, who has earned a move to Celtic, Kyle Magennis, Cammy Smith and Gavin Reilly are a testament to the work of Ross in PaisleyThe Herald:
