Glasgow Warriors suffered a 36-15 defeat away to Ulster in the PRO14 tonight, a result that leaves Edinburgh’s progress in the competition still in doubt.

While Glasgow have already secured a semi-final place, next Saturday’s 1872 Cup decider against Edinburgh at Murrayfield takes on additional significance.

Edinburgh could be pipped for a play-off place if they were to lose to Glasgow in the inter-city clash, while at the same time, Conference B rivals Ulster will be squaring up in their remaining match against Munster at Thomond Park, trying to secure a bonus-point win.

In Belfast, Ulster outscored Glasgow four tries to two, both of Warriors scores coming from skipper Callum Gibbins as the hosts dominated the second half having been 16-10 up at the break.
