CRAIG Thomson has been named as referee for Sunday's clash between Celtic and Rangers at Parkhead.

The rivals meet this weekend for the second time in a fortnight as Brendan Rodgers' side look to claim their seventh consecutive league title with victory over their neighbours.

Experienced official Thomson will take charge of the encounter, with Graeme Stewart and Frank Connor as his assistants and Kevin Clancy the fourth official.

The 45-year-old has handed out 11 red cards in 34 games this season and will be overseeing the Ibrox side for the second weekend in a row after officiating their 2-1 win over Hearts last Sunday.

It will be the second Old Firm derby of the season that Thomson has refereed, following the 2-0 victory for Celtic at Ibrox on 23 September.
