CELTIC centre back Jozo Simunovic admits that he was delighted to finish the season on a high by lifting the Scottish Cup at Hampden on Saturday.
The defender has spent a considerable period of time this season either on the bench or on the sidelines due to injury or suspension and he admits that it has, at times, been frustrating.
But a substitute’s appearance in the final ensures he has his name in the record books as part of the double treble winning team and for that, he is hugely grateful.

“It was a nice feeling (to lift the cup) and the most important thing was that we won and got the treble again so I’m very proud,” he said.
“The second half of the season was frustrating but by the end it was okay. I’ve been ready to play all the time and it’s just been down to the decision of the manager.
“Of course I wanted to show my best in training but it’s the manager’s decision and the thing is in the end we won the treble.”
Despite Simunovic’s challenges this season though, he remains happy plying his trade at Celtic Park, with his relationship with manager Brendan Rodgers integral to this.

“He (Rodgers) explained it to me and I’m still very happy here,” he said.
“I cannot tell you what he said – that must remain personal - but it was a very good conversation. He speaks with every player so it was nothing strange that he spoke to me.
“It’s a challenge for me to get back in the team.
“I’m looking forward to next season to working hard and trying to get back in.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
