Edinburgh's Charlie Shiel has been called up to the Scotland squad as an injury replacement for Ali Price.

The 20-year-old scrum-half, son of former Scotland international Graham Shiel, has played at under-16, under-18 and under-20 level for his country.

Glasgow Warriors' Price picked up a groin injury in the opening match of the summer tour, a 48-10 win over Canada in Edmonton.

Following further assessments in Houston, Texas - where Scotland play their next fixture against the United States this weekend - Price was ruled out of the rest of the tour.

Shiel, who signed a two-year professional contract with Edinburgh in March, is due to arrive in Houston on Tuesday.

Scotland will complete the 2018 summer Test campaign against Argentina in Resistencia on Saturday, June 23.
