PARTICK Thistle striker Miles Storey has committed his future to the club after putting pen to paper on a new contract.

The 24-year-old's future was up in the air after he was placed on the transfer list following Thistle's relegation from the Premiership.

However, he has now agreed a new deal to stay with the Jags for the 2018/19 campaign after featuring in both of their Betfred Cup group stage games during the last week.

"I’m glad to have sorted out my future and to stay at Partick Thistle for the upcoming season," he said to ptfc.co.uk.

"It’s going to be an exciting year as the club pushes for promotion back to the Ladbrokes Premiership and I am certain that I can help make that happen.

“It was always my first choice to remain a Jag – I’m very happy here – so I’m delighted to have got everything sorted. I don’t think Thistle fans have seen me anywhere near my best yet but I’m determined to put that right this season.

“Everyone at the club have always been incredibly supportive of me and I’m looking to pay them back by adding the goals and performances that can send the club back to where it belongs. That is now my one and only focus.”

Thistle boss Alan Archibald added: "I’m delighted that Miles has signed a new contract for the season ahead and I know he is hungry and desperate to impress.

"His pace and power adds a different dimension to our strike force and gives me another option in attack. I think Miles has already had an impact on the pitch this season and he will cause a lot of problems for defenders.

“With the uncertainty over Miles’ future now gone, I can continue to look to add more quality players to the squad as we look to fulfil our sole aim for the season – promotion back to the Ladbrokes Premiership.”
