SIR Chris Hoy is going to share the secrets of success as a sports star as he teams up with a host of medal-winning athletes for a documentary to coincide with the Commonwealth Games.

The cyclist will film with Sir Steve Redgrave, Lennox Lewis and fellow Scot Graeme Obree in a bid to discover whether elite competitors are born - or made - to be at the top of their sports. It is part of a series of shows which will be broadcast on the BBC around the Commonwealth Games this summer.

Sir Chris, who has already begun filming How to Win Gold, announced his retirement last year after winning two gold medals at the previous year's Olympic Games in London.

He said: "I've enjoyed meeting each of the athletes involved with this documentary and have learnt something myself from my conversations with every one of them."

Other programmes include a two-part comedy, Don't Drop the Baton, presented by Mark Nelson and Susan Calman. It will have stand-up and sketches and one episode will have reaction to the Games.

Calman said: "As a Glaswegian I'm hugely excited about the Commonwealth Games happening on my doorstep, and being able to celebrate the city and the Games through comedy is even better. I can't wait to get started on Don't Drop the Baton, working with some of the finest talent Scotland, and the Commonwealth, has to offer."
