A SILVER medal winning cyclist visited a Glasgow bike shop shortly after her win to thank staff for providing a last-minute part for her bike.

England's Emma Pooley popped into Billy Bilsland's Cycles in Glasgow with her medal around her neck after they ensured she could compete in the time trial.

The cyclist gave shop owner Neil Bilsland a signed jersey from Team England, which includes the signature of Alex Dowsett, who won gold in the men's time trial.

Mr Bilsland said: "She came in with the jersey and thanked everyone. It was very nice. She also met some fans and posed for pictures."
