ATHLETES and officials from Team New Zealand have given two decorated posts to the city of Glasgow to mark their links with Scotland.

The Pou, by Maori artist Rangi Kipi, are adorned with traditional symbols as well as the Pride of New Zealand Tartan, which was designed 20 years ago.

They were used in the Athletes' Village and will be exhibited in the east end of Glasgow before a permanent home can be found.

Rob Waddell, Chef de Mission of Team New Zealand said: "We have used these to gather around, to welcome our team members and to celebrate our successes.

"The Pou ... reflect our strong understanding of who we are as a people and where we are from."
