Over the years, Scottish fighters tend to do very well at the Commonwealth Games regularly bringing home their fair share of medals and Glasgow 2014 has the potential to be Teams Scotland most successful year in the ring, especially with thousands of screaming and passionate Scottish fans at the SECC cheering on each of the fighters.

But who will bring home the gold?

1) Josh Taylor 64kg

Prestonpans fighter won silver four years ago at the Delhi Commonwealth Games when he fought England's Tom Stalker and he will be hoping to go one step further, and will the gold at his home games.

A junior Taekwando champion, the 23 year old started boxing at the age of 15 under trainer Terry McCormack at Lockend ABC club in Edinburgh.

Since then, he has established himself as one of Scotland's top amateur fighters.

Taylor secured his place in Team Scotland thanks to a spilt decision victory over Greenock's Sam Bell.

Taylor has also represented Team GB at the Olympics Games in 2012.

The hard working and dedicated fighter never gives anything less than 100 per cent when he is in the ring and will be one of the favourites to pick up a gold medal in June.

2) Joe Ham 56kg

At the Delhi games, Glasgow fighter Joe Ham collapsed after defeat to Namibia's Sakaria Lukas but the 22 year old fighter hopes to rectify that disappointment by winning gold at this year's games.

Ham secured his place in Team Scotland with a dominant victory over Denbeath's Brandon Singh at the National Championships.

He dropped Singh with a crunching left hook to the body and head only minutes after he knocked him down for the first time.

Over 2000 people at the Emirates Arena cheered the local on at the championships and at the Commonwealth Games the young fighter will be one of the most well supported competitors.

3) Kieran Smith 75kg

Picked ahead over Lochend's Aston Brown, the West Lothian fighter will have an extra point to prove at Glasgow 2014.

Brown appealed against Smith's inclusion in Team Scotland, despite Smith narrowly beating him at the National Championships.

The appeal was thrown out, and Smith's place in the side was confirmed.

While he sympathy for his former friend, Smith is fully focused on the Games.

A strong and powerful middleweight, Smith has his eye sets on bringing home gold for Scotland.

4) Reece McFadden 52kg

Forgewood's Reece McFadden is set to make his Team Scotland debut at Glasgow 2014.

The fighter secured his place at the Commonwealth Games after an impressive victory against Ryan McCutcheon from Meadowbank in an energetic flyweight encounter.

The 52kg at the year's set to be one of the most hard fought categories, however, with the home crowd behind him the pacey fighter could be one of the surprise packages of the games.
