Track Cycling and Badminton

The stage is set for Scotland's athletes to pedal their way to glory in front of a 9000 capacity crowd.

This iconic and innovative new venue, in the East End of Glasgow, is one of the most versatile of its kind in Europe. The state-of-the-art design also includes a gym, spa, dance studio, sports hall and floodlit five-a-side pitches.

Situated opposite Celtic Park, those competing in Track Cycling and Badminton events are only a short hop from the Athletes' Village.

The Emirates Arena

This 5000 capacity arena will witness the speed and dynamic approach of some of the best badminton players in the world at Glasgow 2014.

The Arena is also the home of Scotland's only professional basketball team, The Glasgow Rocks, and has a hydraulically controlled, six-lane athletics track in place.

The £116m project is also the national training centre for such sports as athletics, basketball and volleyball.

Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome

Named after the six-time Olympic gold medallist, and Britain's most successful Olympian, this venue will fittingly host the Track Cycling events in Glasgow.

The ambitious, 250 track was designed by Ralph Shuermann with a permanent capacity of 2500. This will be increased, however, to 4000 in time for the Games to create the best atmosphere possible to spur on the cyclists.
