Gordon Drummond, the Saltires captain,has been ruled out of next month's tour to South Africa because of to work commitments.
The Carlton all-rounder will now not be named in the 16-man squad. Veteran batsman Fraser Watts will also miss the trip.
The selectors are likely to include a number of new faces when the squad is annoucned next week, including at least one county player who qualifies through the ICC's new eligibility rules.
