CRAIG WALLACE last night staked his claim for a Scotland recall with a superb century in the opening match of this season's CS Pro50 Trophy.

The Forfarshire wicketkeeper/batsman, overlooked for the World Cup, was the match-winner as the Highlanders cruised to a 141-run win over the Reivers at Forthill, Broughty Ferry.

Wallace shared an opening stand of 121 with Hamish Gardiner who added to two recent centuries for Scotland A with 57.

Ewan Chalmers also got in on the run-scoring act with a hard-hitting 78 but it was Wallace who dominated with a brilliant 140.

His boundary-laden effort helped the Highlanders post a mammoth 371-7 while Con de Lange was the pick of the Reivers bowlers with 2-52 while Scott Beveridge and Safyaan Sharif each claimed a brace. De Lange also spearheaded his team's run-chase with 76 but the Reivers could muster just 230 with former Derbyshire bowler Ali Evans picking up for scalps for the Highlanders.
