Strathmore Union champions Perth Doo'cot were due to face Penicuik today for the final place in next season's CSL Eastern First Division. A similar play-off had been scheduled in the west between Irvine and Prestwick.
However, neither fixture will go ahead after it became clear that a majority of clubs want to scrap the eight-team divisions which were introduced last year in favour of a return to 10-team leagues.
CSL administrator Ramsay Allan declared: "We've had no official feedback from the meetings that have been taking place but it seems there is a clear consensus for change to 10-team divisions.
"In that event the play-offs would have no relevance and the decision has been taken to cancel them."
Further talks between the east and west and Cricket Scotland will take place in the next few weeks.
